Why do non-PDGA-members have to start in the gold-division?
It’s hard to estimate players skill levels without a current PDGA-rating. So players who do not have an active PDGA rating start in the Gold Division to make the competition fair for everyone.
Since the Overall Season Ranking (OSR) and division results are based on skill levels, starting all non-rated players in the Gold Division ensures that:
- Scores are comparable across tournaments
- Competition is balanced and fair
- New players can join safely without affecting the ranking system
If a player earns a PDGA rating during the BBDL season, they will be moved to the correct rating-based division from that point on.
This way, everyone can compete fairly while still enjoying the BBDL community and events.

How do I know where to send the entry fee?

Will there be food available during lunch break?

What happens in case of a tie in the overall ranking?
Answer:
If there is a tie between two or more players for prize positions, the following tiebreakers apply:
- Higher number of BBDL tournament wins
- Higher number of 2nd place finishes
- Higher number of 3rd place finishes
- Higher number of BBDL tournaments played in the current season
- Higher number of BBDL tournaments played abroad in the current season
- Playoff of three holes right after the BBDL final tournament
- If still tied, the winner is decided by “closest to the pin” on an extra hole.
If a player is not present for the playoff, it counts as a forfeit.
If several players are absent, the Tournament Director will draw lots among those present.
How is scoring done?
Scoring is done via the PDGA Live app.
Are the results rounded to whole numbers?
No, results are calculated to one decimal place.
How exactly are the tournament results weighted?
- Tournaments in Finsterwalde, Wroclaw, and Walbrzych are on permanent courses and count normally.
- Tournaments in Cottbus, Duchcov, and Libochovice are on temporary courses and therefore get 10% extra weight in the overall ranking.
Do all BBDL tournament results count equally for the overall ranking?
No. Some BBDL tournaments carry more weight in the ranking.
This usually applies to tournaments on temporary courses, which are more challenging because players cannot practice on them beforehand. This helps reduce the advantage of local players and makes the ranking more fair.
It also honors the extra effort of organizers who create these temporary “pop-up” courses.
What do I need to do to be included in the BBDL overall ranking for the current season?
To be included, you have to:
- Participate in at least one BBDL tournament in the current season.
Please note: If you meet this condition, your four best BBDL results will count toward the overall ranking.
So the more BBDL tournaments you play, the more chances you have to improve your ranking and replace weaker results.
Do I have to play in all BBDL tournaments?
No, you can play in as many tournaments as you want – one or all, it’s up to you. Your chances to improve in the overall ranking increase with each tournament you play because your four best results count.
