Calculation of Points in the Overall Season Ranking

A) Number of Tournaments Counted in the Overall Ranking

The number of BBDL tournaments may vary from year to year.

The number of tournaments that count toward the overall ranking depends on how many BBDL tournaments are actually held that season.

Total BBDL Tournaments Held2345678910
Number of Tournaments Counted223344556

Please note:
The number of tournaments that count toward the overall ranking is based on the number of tournaments that are actually conducted.

If a planned tournament must be cancelled during the season, it is removed from the yearโ€™s total count, which can also reduce the number of tournaments that count for the ranking.

B) Weighting of BBDL Tournaments

BBDL tournament results are weighted differently in the overall ranking, depending on the course type. See the FAQ for the reasoning behind this.

  • Permanent course: mostly fixed baskets
  • Temporary course: mostly portable baskets

Results from permanent courses count toward the overall ranking with a 100% weighting.
Results from temporary courses count with a 110% weighting.

C) Points Tables for the BBDL Overall Season Ranking

For permanent courses:

Placement in Division1234567891011+
fixed points2320171411975321
variable points0.5 points for each of the first 10 players the competitor has beaten in their division (i.e., all players with the same or worse placement).

For temporary courses:

Placement1234567891011+
fixed Points25,322,018,715,412,19,97,75,53,32,21,1
variable Pointsyou get 0.7 points for each of the first 10 players the competitor has beaten in their division (i.e., all players with the same or worse placement).

Please note:

  • Players who do not start (DNS) or do not finish (DNF) at tournament are not included in the calculation of variable points.
  • If a round must be canceled (for example due to dangerous weather), all scores from that round are void.
However, temporary interruptions are allowed as long as the round is fully completed later.
  • If only one round is completed, the full amount of points is still awarded.
  • If no round can be completed, the tournament is excluded from the overall ranking.
This can reduce the number of tournaments that count toward the yearโ€™s ranking.
  • Results are calculated to one decimal place.
